The Summer Solstice Run again, though this time it is actually on the date of the solstice (they always hold it on Thursday evening, so it is rarely on the actual solstice).
I did not have as successful a run as I normally do. I find it so unusual that for the past few weeks, I have been able to do our Wednesday fun run in around 35 minutes, but when I am in an actual race… I don’t do quite as well.
One consistent problem with this race is that it takes forever for results to get posted. I have tried to make the same offer as I did with Finishline, and that is to let me take home the bibs and times and transcribe it into a database and then publish in HTML. I have gotten quite efficient with this. The race director (new this year) is not that accessible, so I end up staying after the race and I handcopy all 300 results onto a few pieces of paper, and convert to HTML at home later.
The following year I get a lot of e-mail from people asking why the results haven’t been posted – so the good is that people are finding the results and the bad is that they think that I am not being forthcoming with the results, when I have nothing to do with them getting posted.
