Boeing 5K (4) – 2014

April 14, 2014

I slept pretty badly last night and woke up feeling congested.  I briefly (very briefly) thought I might not go, especially since in the morning before the race I had my teeth cleaned, which always hurts a bit.

To pile on, I ran the Mount Wilson Trail with the AREC Trail group, which was 16 tough miles round trip (8 miles up and 8 miles down), so I didn’t have high expectations.

On the way back, into a strong headwind, I got a good challenge from Kevin McKee.  Even though I didn’t feel great, I managed to out-kick him at the end and run one of my better times (recently) and finish with a negative split – 23:11.
