Boeing 5K (5) – 2014

May 12, 2014

A very unusual Boeing race today.  Usually, the race starts with a strong headwind, followed by a mediocre tailwind (which feels like running in heat).

Today, however, it is the reverse.  The benefit of the former way is that you get a little tired out on the first half and then the tailwind carries you into the finish.  The difficulty of today’s way is that you zoom out to a good time at the turn-around and then are flummoxed by the wind.

I had a really good time to the turn-around (as stated generally, above) and was in 3rd place at that time, but the wind sapped my energy.  I ended up fading to 9th place… though Kevin McKee did get by me at the end (but they recorded us with the same time – 24:54).
